Kardamone or Quizlet

Your lists are on Quizlet and you are thinking of studying somewhere else? Here is what you will find on Kardamone, what works differently, and what is not there.

What you will find

  • Your own lists: a word and its translation, or a term and its definition, with an example and a note if you want them.
  • Practice, where you pick the answer out of four before typing it.
  • The written test, where you type the answer, and self-assessment, where you flip the card and judge your own answer.
  • Flashcards to flick through, with no score.
  • Sharing with a class: a list, or a whole collection, is shared with a single link, and each student studies with their own account.

What works differently

  • Spaced repetition. Each answer in the written test sets when the card comes back: the next day, then after 4, 12 and 35 days. Each day you review the cards that are due, and a card you get right at the last step does not come back.
  • The catalogue. Vocabulary and grammar lists already written and proofread, sorted by level, from A1 to C2, so you do not have to type everything yourself.
  • Export. Each list exports to CSV from its page, and Settings › Data exports all your lists at once.

What you will not find

  • Diagrams to label.
  • Live games played by the whole class on a shared screen.

Bringing your Quizlet sets across

  1. On Quizlet, open the set and choose "Export" in its ⋯ menu, if your account offers it. Keep a tab between term and definition and a new line between cards, then copy the text.
  2. On Kardamone, tap +, then "Import a file (CSV, Anki, Quizlet)". Paste the text, or choose the file you saved it in.
  3. Check the preview, correct it if needed, then confirm: the cards are added to the list.

Only the cards come across, not your review history on Quizlet, so the schedule starts afresh.
