What is Kardamone?
A site for learning with cards. Each card holds a question (a word, a sentence to complete) and its answer; you practise recalling one from the other. Kardamone brings each card back when it is time to review it, rather than all at once. There is nothing to install.
Which languages can I learn?
In the catalogue:
- English
- French
- German
- Italian
- Spanish
- Bulgarian
- Croatian
- Czech
- Danish
- Dutch
- Greek
- Hungarian
- Polish
- Portuguese
- Romanian
- Slovak
- Swedish
- Turkish
- Ukrainian
- Finnish
- Norwegian Bokmål
It also has culture lists (dates, facts, definitions), and you can make your own lists in any language.

Which guided tracks can I follow?
A track takes you level by level, one session a day: reviews, new words and grammar. It exists for:
- English
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Italian
- Portuguese
- Bulgarian
- Croatian
- Czech
- Danish
- Dutch
- Finnish
- Greek
- Hungarian
- Norwegian Bokmål
- Polish
- Romanian
- Slovak
- Swedish
- Turkish
- Ukrainian
You start with the placement test or at the beginning. You can also study the catalogue's lists at your own pace, without a track.
Up to which level can I learn a language?
It depends on the language you learn and on your own: the catalogue and the guided tracks do not go as far for every language. One page gives, for your language, the level each language you can learn reaches.
How is it different from Anki?
You no longer have to choose between Anki’s spaced repetition and Duolingo’s guided learning. You do not have to build your cards first. The catalogue lists are ready to use, checked by hand and graded by level. Each card also accepts variants of the answer, and some include an example or a note. It works in any browser, and offline.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can browse the catalogue and take the level test (about 5 minutes) without registering. With an account you study the catalogue, follow your progress and can revise offline. No invitation is needed.
Can I use my own words?
Yes. Write a list in the editor, import a text file from any spreadsheet, or paste the words in. Any AI you choose can also write the list: Kardamone writes the prompt for it and imports the answer. You can export your own lists at any time.

Can I bring my cards from another app?
Yes. Export your cards from Anki ("Notes in Plain Text") or Quizlet, or save a CSV file from any spreadsheet, and import it into a list. Kardamone reads commas, semicolons and tabs, and shows you a preview before adding anything. A list holds up to 500 cards. Your cards come across, but not your review history from the other app, so the schedule starts fresh.

Does it work offline?
Yes. On a list's page, choose "Make available offline" and study without a connection. Your answers sync when you are back online. The learning path is meant for a connection: offline, it offers only the day’s reviews and new words.
