Lena arbeitet als Journalistin bei einer Zeitung in Köln. Lena works as a journalist for a newspaper in Cologne. Letzte Woche sollte sie über ein neues Theaterstück berichten. Last week she was supposed to report on a new play. Das Stück erzählt die Geschichte eines berühmten Malers. The play tells the story of a famous painter. Vor der Aufführung sprach Lena kurz mit dem Regisseur. Before the performance Lena spoke briefly to the director. Er erzählte ihr, dass das Stück in Hamburg ein großer Erfolg gewesen war. He told her that the play had been a great success in Hamburg.
Der erste Akt war lustig und sehr gut gespielt. The first act was funny and very well acted. Im zweiten Akt gab es eine traurige Szene, in der fast niemand sprach. In the second act there was a sad scene in which almost nobody spoke. Viele Leute weinten. Many people cried. Am Ende stand das ganze Publikum auf und rief Bravo. At the end the whole audience stood up and shouted bravo.
Am nächsten Morgen schrieb Lena ihre Kritik. The next morning Lena wrote her review. Sie fand das Stück ein bisschen lang, aber sehr schön. She thought the play was a bit long but very beautiful. Ihr Artikel erschien am Samstag in der Zeitung. Her article came out in the paper on Saturday. Danach wollten noch mehr Leute das Stück sehen. After that even more people wanted to see the play.
