Letzte Woche wollte Jonas sich in der Bibliothek in Frankfurt anmelden. Last week Jonas wanted to register at the library in Frankfurt. Für die Anmeldung brauchte er nur seinen Ausweis. For the registration he only needed his ID card. Eine Frau gab ihm sofort eine Mitgliedskarte. A woman gave him a membership card straight away. Seine Jacke musste er an der Garderobe lassen. He had to leave his jacket in the cloakroom.
Jonas suchte ein Buch über alte Häuser in Frankfurt. Jonas was looking for a book about old houses in Frankfurt. Irgendwie fand er es nicht, obwohl er überall suchte. Somehow he couldn't find it, although he looked everywhere. Ein junger Mann half ihm, und nach fünf Minuten hatten sie es gefunden. A young man helped him, and after five minutes they had found it. Das Buch war sehr alt, und in der ersten Seite war sogar ein kleines Loch. The book was very old, and there was even a small hole in the first page.
Zu Hause las Jonas den ganzen Abend. At home Jonas read all evening. Er wollte nicht einmal fernsehen. He didn't even want to watch TV. Der Inhalt war spannend, auch wenn die Sprache manchmal schwer war. The content was exciting, even if the language was sometimes difficult. Am Ende des Buches fand er ein altes Foto, das jemand dort vergessen hatte. At the end of the book he found an old photo that someone had left there.
